• Alcatel Lucent Surpasses 125 million VoIP Licenses Shipped

Alcatel Lucent has shipped over 125 million VoIP subscriber licenses globally with more than 88 million licenses Voice over LTE (VoLTE) subscriber licenses making up the bulk of shipments.

Growth in VoLTE deployments are empowering administrators to operational costs by migrating to all IP networks and freeing up bandwidth to satisfy increasing demand for mobile broadband; combining HD voice, video conferencing and data with the ultra fast speeds found in 4G LTE networks.

"IP communications are the path for today's operator to remain relevant and meet marketing, end users and business customers expectations within increasingly condensed timeframes ... Alcatel-Lucent's milestone is evidence of its knowhow in building IMS, VoIP, LTE and VoLTE networks" says Diane Myers, Principal Analyst VoIP, UC and IMS, Infonetics.

Alcatel-Lucent's IMS communications provide APIs for real time communications across the web that migrate multimedia communications from standalone services to one that can be embedded into any device, web page or applications.

Allowing operators to expand brands, reach new markets increasingly reliant on mobile broadband and utilizing IP communications to drive service innovation in heathcare, education, financial services, and other industries enables them to capture more revenue.

Over 100 global service providers are currently using Alcatel-Lucent's IMS solution, the communications core for next generation IP networks, including 4G LTE and VoLTE.
