Growth for hosted VoIP is especially good for the small business sector because, according to Thorson, “lots of SMBs don't want to bother with phone systems.”

With the average life cycle for PBX systems in the 5 to 7 years range, Thorson is bullish on growth opportunities.

The last major overhaul for most PBXs was “in response to the Y2K factor,” while replacements for these systems have been mitigated by a the global recession over the last few years.
